So, you're looking for a new wooden armoire. Do you know what you should be looking for in an armoire? If not, there are some simple things you should keep in mind when shopping around.
Types of Wood
As you might imagine, there are a lot of different types of wood used to make armoires. When deciding on which wood you want, there are some things you should keep in mind beyond whether or not the 'color' of the wood used for the armoire fits in with the rest of your decor. For example, picking a wood that's durable can ensure you have the armoire for years to come.
Size and Shape
Wooden armoires come in a lot of different shapes and sizes. The basic design is usually the same, but there are a lot of variations that can really make your armoire unique. Depending on where you're going to put it and what you're going to store in it, you should make sure you get an armoire that's large enough for your needs.
Shelves and Storage
The other
thing you should think about when getting an armoire is how the shelves and storage are setup. Depending on which room you're going to put it in, you might have different needs. Whether you need an armoire for clothes or a tv armoire for the bedroom or recreation room, there are a lot of types of armoires available.
If you're going to be using the armoire for a television, you'll want to make sure the upper shelves are large enough for your television, even with the doors closed. This might seem like a small, insignificant matter, but knowing if your TV is going to fit or not before you buy can save you a lot of time and frustration when getting an armoire.
Beyond the main shelves, you should consider whether or not you need (or want) shelves and drawers on the bottom of the armoire. Sometimes this can be a little more expensive, but if you can use the extra storage space, it's worth the extra money. As with the main shelves, you'll want to make sure that the drawers are big enough for what you're going to store in them.
These are just the basics. When it comes to buying a wooden armoire, there are other things to consider, like price. Keeping the above information in mind when you shop for your next bedroom armoire, though, you can make sure you get something that's both beautiful and useful.
